“how would AI take over the world?”

don’t worry, it can’t

AI takeover might be far fetched.

– That’s right –

Yet, I can’t seem to shake the feeling that the evidence says otherwise.

Earlier this year, Bill Gates mentioned great things AI could do. He promises that AI will dramatically improve productivity, make the world richer, and help third world countries move away from poor conditions. In an interview with Bloomberg Television, he stated, “AI is a brilliant tool for people to be more productive.” It is a sort of invigorating how he speaks with a sort of intellectual confidence, promises us a better future within the hands of AI, and tells us of a brighter future we will have under the softwares of the Artificial Intelligence he creates.

Charisma and populism

AI also has amazing data analyzation abilities that speed up processing time of websites to predict human behaviors. It allows algorithms to identify patterns and relationships in sets of data. This technology will open up opportunities for managing increased processing power and decision-making abilities. In addition it’s no secret that the image generation softwares that come along with this advancement in technologies aid in widespread misinformation that affects political elections.

Manipulation and propaganda

The US Department of State released the following statement from just a couple months ago: “In 2023, the U.S. government announced $15 million in foreign assistance funding.” We are seeing an influx of support from countries around the globe. We are finding that more and more countries are debating the uses of AI and finding their own conclusions, many either neutral or positive. While it’s wildely held among Americans, we are not the only ones interested in AI. The top ten countries in AI innovation include; China, UK, Israel, Canada, and France among many others.

International support or neutrality

Analyzing the response from 6 different AI softwares, I am able to come to one logical conclusion: AI takeover might be far fetched.

I was curious if AI actually wants to take over the world, so I personally drew up responses from google’s Gemini, Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta AI, Semrush AI, Deep AI, Ninja AI, and ChatGBT.

The responses from all detailed that world domination is wrong and that the 10-step plan they devised was actually a strategy for changing the world in a positive way. Given the introduction, you can probably tell it took a lot of tweaking for it to give us a super villain style takeover plan. We can either take this information and say that AI might have good intentions, or at least the ones programing it do. Or perhaps they’re sort of like Deadpool. An antihero in all their glory.
