All parents need a break occasionally. Being a parent comes with a ton of responsibilities, selflessness acts, and encouraging words. As a babysitter, I am able to form a bond with the children. They miss their parents but they also enjoy a new friend. As a babysitter it is my job to keep them safe, let them learn, and play a crap ton of games with them. During this time parents can take care of themselves for a little bit and be relieved of any stress they may carry.

Babysitting provides safe care to children. It is a huge dedication that will come with difficulties and challenges, but it is a rewarding and wonderful experience. Everyday is different with babysitting. It’s a new adventure that is so exciting to explore. Finding a sitter who loves children and wants to inspire your child to be their best self is truly the overall goal. Babysitting allows children and the sitter to be creative and have a good time, while also giving the parents a break from parenting.

A Sitter Actually Necessary

Parents will feel stressed and overwhelmed, so it is critical that they have an outlet to relieve the stress so they don’t unleash it on their children. A text I read said, “When you’re rested and feel good, you’ll be more present and patient with your child. That leaves the baby feeling happy and secure. It’s kind of like on an airplane when they advise you to put your oxygen mask on first. Getting a babysitter is putting on your oxygen mask. To be the best parent you can be, you need to be your best self.” The benefits to having a babysitter are endless. Having a sitter allows the parents to relax and for their child to build a relationship. I have seen the positive effects babysitting brings. Therefore, I believe that all parents should have a sitter for their children.

Babysitting gives the child a way to be creative, learn, and build relationships with people other than their parents. Children who don’t have a relationship with caregivers other than their parents are going to have difficulties when they transition to preschool or kindergarten. If children feel comfortable without their parents around, they’ll be a lot more comfortable when the parents have to leave them on the first day of preschool. The article said, “So, ditch the excuses, and get a babysitter – even if it’s only for an hour while you’re at home doing chores or taking a nap. You’ll be doing the best thing for your child and you.”
