Wrestling is an often-overlooked sport. It doesn’t get the attention sports like football or baseball do. However, what wrestling does have is the ability to fundamentally change your entire life. It builds character and discipline that no other sport can replicate

I first started wrestling about a year and a half ago with no expectations. I was looking to do a sport, but didn’t know which one to try. So I went to a wrestling practice. I immediately felt the brotherly culture.

The team was small, and everyone hung out together. Practices were tough but built character. Whenever I felt like giving up, I pushed a little further. Practices taught me that I could do more than what I thought I could. They taught me that nothing is impossible.

That’s what wrestling does.

It’s more than just holding another man on his back; it’s about giving all you have. A tough practice will be what you need when you’re struggling in life. It’ll get you out of that hole you will find yourself in 10 years.

Wrestling has no glory. Nobody goes around bragging they’re a wrestler. It’s a sport that almost no one cares about. That’s why it’s such a great sport. People don’t do it for what they gain; they do it for what they give. Wrestlers give their souls to this sport, and wrestling teaches them discipline.

So ask any wrestler this simple question: “Do you regret joining wrestling?”. They will always answer with a simple “No”.
