Motivation and uncertainty are concepts that you normaly wouldn’t exactly think intertwine with one another. But both are mental results of thinking of the future. Thinking of the future is one of those things that isn’t exactly black or white, rather, its grey. It’s neither fully good nor bad. Its a pendulum swings both ways. On one hand, it can lead to a feeling of movitation. A reason to do better. On the other hand, the constant lingering thought of the future can can be very anxiety inducing. That worry it brings and uncertainty is what people fear. Thinking of the future is a double-edged sword.

Think of something you are looking forward to. It can be important or insignificant. Maybe it’s a new movie or a birthday party. It can be important or insignificant. That event or thing is something you can use as motivation. A reason to keep going and to do better. Wheither its big or small. That feeling of looking forward to something is a form of motivation. Do whats best for you in the present. Make the best choices. All for the sake of experiencing those thing you are looking forward to. This is how future can serve as a motivating factor. The worst part about the future is the uncerainty it brings. You never know what’s in store for you. The future is very unpredicable. The bad side of thinking of the future is being reminded of those uncertainties. You wonder what will happen to you. What could go wrong? What should I do? How will this affect me? What comes next? You constanly asking yourself these questions lead constant worry which will then affect you in the present. The lingering thought of not knowing what comes next is pretty scary. The best thing you can do is look at the present. Paint your present to shape your future. No matter the uncerainties it holds.

Thinking of The future is a double-edged sword. You can benefit yourself but at the same time screw yourself over. Is it a good idea to do so? I think it mostly depend how you individually view it. Do you look at the future as something to look forward to and work hard for, or is it something to be a afraid of and a reminder of the fact that you don’t know what comes next? It also has to do with how you think of your current situation. Wheither you you have things under control or are completely lost, the way you view the future will affect you in present. The future can be a source of motivation and something to be excited about. But it can also be pond if questions and the root of worry. It all narrows down to how you view it. Wheither you have enough confidence to look at the bright side of things. Now ask yourself: When you pick up the sword, will you flawlessly swing it and hit your target, or will you injure yourself in doing so?
