These two are both very well known in the golf community, but some people think one is more efficient than the other.

Having a good mental game is by far the most important part of being a successful golfer. Being able to maintain a strong mental game can not only help you physically do well on the golf course, it can also help boost your confidence and motivation in golf and everyday life. Being able to develop a strong mental game, will increase your ability to be successful and confident.

Developing a Pre Shot Routine

Developing a good pre shot routine consist of multiple parts. These parts are completely up to you; every golfer has a different pre shot routine and that’s what makes these unique. I’ve met people that believe having a pre shot routine is a big waste of time, I have met golfers that believe the complete opposite. I personally believe having a pre shot routine is what makes a golfer good. For example, a pre shot routine consists of choosing a target, deep breath, feet and shoulder alignment, and then go. Look at the professionals, they all have a pre shot routine, but they are all different from each other.

Visualizing the shot

Being able to visualize the right golf shot can be challenging. Most high handicap golfers look and swing; they don’t visualize a shot, and it shows when they’re digging in the trees for that brand new ball they just pulled out of their bag. Look at the professionals, the reason they are so good at golf is because they have all these routines they follow.
