Production of Success

After the release of Travis Scott’s first album, Owl Pharaoh, he knew his impression on the music industry must grow. Even after this debut album led Scott to minimal success, he was still not a world-wide artist. Only one year after his debut, Scott released another mix tape, Days Before Rodeo. This mix tape carried the same, unique tone as established in Owl Pharaoh. But, it was released for free, acting as a stepping stone to his breakthrough, rather then the final push into his mainstream success.

Rodeo

Just two years after the release of Scott’s debut album, he experienced a severe breakthrough in his career. On September 4, 2015, Travis Scott released his very first studio album-Rodeo. This album skyrocketed his career, safely labeling him as a mainstream artist. Led by the hit single, Antidote, Rodeo was filled with new, exciting music that took the rap community by storm. This album carried the same euphoric, experimental trap sound that he introduced to the music scene through his first album, Owl Pharaoh.

Mainstream Fame

As Rodeo, specifically his song Antidote, began to grow continuously throughout a few months, Scott’s image grew and grew. With production from two of the most influential and talented producers in the music industry, Mike Dean and Metro Boomin, Rodeo was eventually awarded a platinum certification. With this high certificate attached to Scott’s name, his performance reputation increased. Being able to perform such a high anticipated album, that had grand success, led to a flood of headlining tours for Scott, pushing his name and true talent to the world.

What’s Next

With this newfound mainstream success and social image, Scott began to work hard. He didn’t just stop at his first true look at how successful he can be with his music, but he rather used this as his greatest milestone. Through tours, a constant portrayal to the public, and the instant bounce back into working on new albums and singles, Scott worked relentlessly. This hard work and dedication to a field shows exactly why Scott has not only maintained success, but also continued to grow his image instead of staying stagnant in an industry that evolves exponentially everyday.
