Living your daily life you most likely never think about things going on around you, for example, when you’re going out grocery shopping do you ever just think “Someone helped package these.” or “Someone planted these and now they’re delicious fruit in the grocery store.” If you get to think about who most likely does all of this you come to a conclusion where it’s probably a Hispanic worker. Hispanics have had the highest labor force participation out of any other race with a rate of 66.9%

Many Hispanics from different countries come to the U.S to seek a better future, they come searching for jobs and they’ll work hard until the job is complete. Now just think to yourself for a second, if all hard working Hispanic immigrants are getting deported, which includes farmers, factory workers, etc.., will my vegetables and fruits be in stock as much as it is now? There are also construction workers, they work hard to make homes, make building that are a necessity to the U.S, if they want to get rid of immigrants the rate of building homes for a bigger population will most likely end up going down.

Since the mass deportation we’ve seen many protest of Hispanic immigrants or children of Hispanic immigrants standing up for what’s right. Coming from a child whose family are immigrants it’s hard seeing what’s going on in our country now, we’re being seen as criminals because our parents wanted a better future, not just for them but for their children too.

You may have heard of a quote or maybe seen it during these protest, “Dont bite the hands that feed you.” I feel this quote has a deeper meaning than you think. To me this means don’t fight or be against the people who feed you, to the people who produce the food for you, because you never know, the person working this hard to satisfy other peoples needs is wanting to work that hard because they wanna go home knowing they’re not going home empty handed, to a family that they want to take care of. Same as any other family in the U.S, they want to go home knowing they made the best out of today earning their pay.
