Sometimes we all leave things until the last minute. Or sometimes we don’t even do them. It’s okay not to feel like doing anything. Feeling like lying in your shoes all day and not worrying about anything is okay. We all do at some point. Until it’s too late. Next thing you know, you have many tests and a lot of work to do. Then you still don’t want to complete it. It’s hard getting through it. Especially when you’re a busy person. First, you have school, then after school, you have work or after-school activities, and you just want to go home and rest. There were only a couple of times when procrastination worked for me. Sometimes, when I have a big project, I procrastinate on purpose to have a great idea. I think teachers should let students turn in work late and still get full points.
In the article Understanding and Overcoming Procrastination they say that.
“Procrastination is not a matter, solely, of having poor time management skills, either, but rather can be traced to underlying and more complex psychological reasons. These dynamics are often made worse by schools where students are constantly being evaluated, and especially in college where the pressure for grades is high and a lot can be riding on students’ performance.”
Sometimes procrastination can get very very hard. Even with the most impilist task task like homework., cleaning, etc. Especially the few weeks we have left after spring break. Many people give up and don’t try. That is just the easiest way. Until it backfires. Then you have piles and piles of missing work you need to complete before the school year ends. Personally I think the end of the year workload is harder. I simply do not want to do it.
At the end of the day, procrastination is something everyone deals with. I came up with a few ideas. First, try to reward yourself by getting things done in a timely manner. Try to find the best work habits that work for you, such as listening to music, going outside, etc. Make sure you make a strict schedule for yourself and follow that. Also, write down different quotes about working hard. Procrastination is something that you can’t get over in a day. Just be consistent with your schedule, and you should feel proud of yourself. Remember, consistency is key. Try your best and don’t give up.
